If you use landclasses, you will already know where these files should go.

If you want to see the Abu Dhabi islands looking more like they are supposed to and have NOT set up landclasses before, do the following steps.

1/ Go to your "Addon Scenery" Folder
2/ Create a folder called "Landclasses"
3/ Go into the new "Landclasses" folder and create a subfolder in there called "Scenery" - do NOT create one called Texture!
4/ Copy the 2 landclass files in this archive to your newly created folder
5/ Declare the new scenery folder to Flightsim : IMPORTANT : When you do this, immediately move the Landclasses folder down towards the bottom of your scenery list, to a position just above the default scenery that came with Flight Simulator. It will be a higher priority than "Tokyo Aerial Photo", but not by much. If you use libraries and/or meshes and have set them up as scenery layers, this Landclass folder should be prioritised at about the same level.

The upside of setting up the landclasses folder is that you can now download loads of other landclasses and put them in here so that they are instantly available the next time you start Flightsim. BIG NOTE. These files just describe the use of land whose boundaries are defined elsewhere in Flightsim (either as part of the standard setup or re-defined by various sceneries (which draw coasts and roads etc). The "WC" file is a waterclass, and is used to tint the waters near Abu Dhabi is a slightly more realistic way. The land-water boundaries are re-defined by BGLs inside the Abu Dhabi airport scenery itself (the AUHx bgl and the AUHLC_3/5/9 bgls). Taking those files away would make the coasts look default again, but the land use classifications would remain until you removed the "landclasses" scenery layer.

Note for the experts.
These Landclass files have names starting with "z". The reason for this is that I made some landclass files with the help of Richard Faith a year or two ago, for Dubai. These cover the same geographic area (062_023), but only a section to the south where Abu Dhabi is. So that the files can co-exist on your system if you've used my Dubai Landclass, these have slightly different names. I chose "z" because that makes these files load after Dubai's.

Known problem
The new coasts and islands do not show up in the GPS map display. Not sure why, it is possibly because we had to suppress some features of the default coast in this area. Out of the windows, everything looks fine.

Another note.
There's a landclass file out there called Africa_LC - and it rather ambitiously covers the entire African continent. Great idea in principle, but unfortunately Africa_LC also smears a fake city or two across the UAE, which is in one corner of the Africa_LC coverage area. If you use this Africa landclass, the buildings further inland (where desert ought to be) are caused by that file, not by ours. Our landclass (actually made by Richard Faith) deletes part of this fake city but only goes east by a small amount, so the buildings further to the east are still visible. My advice is to not use Africa_LC and instead find landclass files giving local coverage.
